ACTIVITIES
We encourage all our students to fully participate in St. Thomas the Apostle activities, which helps enrich the student, the family, and our communities. Involved students develop socially, using their talents in pursuit of excellence in mind, body and spirit. We frequently receive complements from area high schools on the well rounded, well educated, and well-mannered student alumni.
FAITH DEVELOPMENT
Every child is a special creation of God. It is a blessing to nurture, to teach, and to build a child’s relationship with Christ so they may one day celebrate their union with Him. We strive to foster our children’s faith development through
• Receiving Holy Communion Tuesday through Friday
• Student participation in the Mass
• Altar serving
• Daily religion class
• Regular celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation
• Catholic Schools Week
2nd Grade preparation for Reconciliation and First Communion
• Advent program
• 7th and 8th graders visits to Helias High School
• Penny Wars to support those in need, such as Pregnancy Help Center
STUDENT COUNCIL
At St. Thomas the Apostle, we strive to provide opportunities for students to develop and apply their leadership skills. The Student council is leadership in action, planning and sponsoring events or activities throughout the year for their fellow students.
SPORTS
Both individual and team athletics are offered at St. Thomas the Apostle school. Our coaches mentor our students in volleyball, basketball, and the most recently added sports program, archery.
ARTS/MUSIC
Art and Music classes allow students to stimulate their creativity and communicate their emotions. Did you know that the fine arts develop higher order and creative thinking skills such as memory, the ability to compare and contrast, group and label, explain cause and effect, assess significance, make predictions, and frame and test hypotheses? Good stuff!
